2. General & Legal Basis
We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We process your data to provide you with the functions of GambleGang, manage leagues, and improve the app.
Legal basis for processing (Art. 6 GDPR / Art. 6 & 31 FADP):
- Contract Performance (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO): For registration, league management, storage of your bets/predictions, and subscriptions.
- Consent (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO): For the use of analysis tools (Google Analytics) and push notifications.
- Legitimate Interest (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. f DSGVO): For app security, country determination (GeoIP for legal compliance), and technical stability.
3. What Data We Store
A. User Accounts & Identity
Data permanently linked to your account until you delete it:
- Data: User ID, E-Mail, Display Name, Profile Picture (incl. user uploads).
- Purpose: Login, user identification, and display in leagues.
- Location: Firebase Authentication & Firestore Database.
B. Game & League Data
To enable the core function of the app (bets and leagues):
- Data: League memberships, scores, placed bets, wagers, wins/losses, history.
- Purpose: Calculation of leaderboards and game evaluation.
- Duration: Permanent as long as the league exists (or until deletion).
C. User Content
Data you share within the community:
- Data: Chat messages in leagues, uploaded images (e.g. custom avatars).
- Location: Firestore Database (Chat) & Firebase Storage (Images).
D. Location & Technical Data
We check your location once during registration:
- Service: get.geojs.io.
- Data: Your IP address is used to determine the country (ISO code).
- Storage: The IP is not stored permanently but processed only at runtime. Result (Country Code) is stored in your profile.
4. Subscriptions & Payments
We offer paid features (Pro Status).
- RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage your subscriptions and entitlements. Subscription status, expiration date, and an anonymous App User ID are stored.
- Apple App Store (iOS): Payments made via the iOS app are processed by Apple. Apple's privacy policy applies.
- Google Play Store (Android): Payments made via the Android app are processed by Google. Google's privacy policy applies.
- Stripe (Web): If you make payments via the web, processing is handled by Stripe. GambleGang does not store credit card data or bank details.
5. App Analysis & Diagnostics
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to improve app stability and understand feature usage.
- Data: Truncated IP addresses, button clicks, visited screens, crash reports (Crashlytics).
- Retention: Data is deleted by default after 14 months (aggregated).
- Opt-Out: You can consent to or reject analytics on first app launch. You can also disable analytics at any time in app settings.
Note: On native mobile apps, we use random Instance IDs (not cookies) to provide these analytics.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We use local storage technologies (LocalStorage, Cookies, IndexedDB) that are technically necessary:

7. Hosting & Third Parties
Our infrastructure and partners are partially located in the USA. We ensure your data is protected via Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the Data Privacy Framework (DPF).
- Google Firebase (USA/Irland): DB, Hosting, Auth.
- Google Analytics (USA): Analytics.
- RevenueCat (USA): Subscription Mgmt.
- Stripe (USA/Irland): Payment Processing (Web).
- Apple App Store (USA): App Distribution & Payment Processing (iOS).
- Google Play Store (USA): App Distribution & Payment Processing (Android).
8. Retention & Deletion
General: We store your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes or as required by law.
Deletion: You can delete your account anytime in settings. Your identity data (Email, ID, Avatar) will be removed.
Handling of data in leagues after deletion: If you delete your account, your personal identifiers (Name, Email, Image) are removed immediately. However, your game-related data (e.g., submitted predictions, points in a league, moves) remain in an anonymized form until the respective league or game round is finished. This is technically necessary to not falsify the integrity of the game and the leaderboards for other players (Legitimate Interest acc. Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR). This data can no longer be associated with you after deletion (displayed as "Deleted Player").
9. Your Rights
You have the right to access, rectification, deletion, and restriction of processing of your data. You can revoke consents (e.g., for analytics) at any time.
